Expatriate Healthcare Medical Advice Service

State v Private Cover

When you move to Cyprus or another EU / EEA country and register with Immigration they require that you have existing medical insurance.  This can be achieved in three ways: State Healthcare, Local private insurance, international private insurance.

We can advise on the most cost effective way of providing healthcare for the level  of service and cost you choose. You don’t have to take Private Medical Insurance out for immigration purposes it may be we can use the state healthcare system to meet your needs.

If Private Medical Insurance is required there are 3 types of policy offering different levels of cover and premium;-

ž      Comprehensive - International Private Medical Insurance worldwide cover.

ž      Budget - International Private Medical Insurance with lower cost, all conditions, limited cover.

ž      Local Private Medical Insurance - lower cost, acute conditions only, limited     cover.

After you are registered with the Immigration authorities and in receipt of a ‘pink’ slip    temporary residence visa you can then apply for a Cypriot medical card enabling you to use the local State Health Service. An application needs to be submitted along with supporting documents.

Once registered with the State Health Service the reverse then applies to Expats who would apply as residents of their new country for an E121 or EU Health Card from their resident State Health Service in order to receive reciprocal treatment while travelling abroad in other EU countries.

We offer a full Expatriate Healthcare Advice Service that will review your options and identify the best way for you to provide the best combination of state and private healthcare for your needs.
